Winnie the Pooh Potty Seat Recalled

pooh potty seat

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said that RC2 recalled about 160,000 First Years 3-in-1 Flush and Sounds potty seats because a decorative plaque inserted into the back of the potty seat could have orange paint that contains excessive levels of lead.

Each seat has either a yellow chair with a green removable seat and a purple lift-out pot or a blue chair with a white removable seat and green pot. The words “100 Acre Wood” are molded on the chair back. The plaque inserted into the back of the seat contains molded Winnie the Pooh and Tigger characters.

They were sold from April 2006 through August 2007 for between $20 and $25.

Souce quoted from whiotv.

With so many toys containing lead that being recalled, previously there was spin tops and now even the potty seats are found containing lead! Therefore, when you are choosing toys for your children, make sure that you pay attention to the contents and ingredients!

I was looking up the winnie the pooh potty chair that i bought way back in July 2007 because I am missing the potty chair insert and was going to purchase just that part because my other grandchild was going to be trained on this potty chair, not knowing there was a recall on this item.
So now I guess I have to purchase another potty chair now. I should probably have my grandaughter check for lead paint poison now too.
It a ashamed that it contains lead because my grandaughter love it and I know my grandson would have loved it too.
Thanks for listening to me. I guess now I have to get rid on this potty chair all together or do I send it back to the company.
Let me know soon, so I know what to do with this potty chair that I have in my home.
    Thank You
    Susan
